Exercise for Every Age
Our bodies change as they grow older. We didn’t need to tell you that, right?
Here’s a gentle reminder, though. Age doesn’t need to stop you from exercising. It’s true that your workout may need adjusted somewhat to meet changing abilities in strength and balance, but our gym in Orlando will help you put together a program that’s just for you.
- When you’re in your 20s and 30s, you often have energy to burn. The way you exercise lays the foundation for your health and wellness in later years. How’s that, you ask?Regular exercise not only helps you stay toned and trim, but it may also help prevent certain chronic conditions (such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis) as you age. High intensity group classes, like HIIT, circuit training, or spinning, rev the metabolism to consume calories, burn fat, and build muscle strength.
- With mid-life comes a change in hormone levels for both men and women. Those in their 40s and 50s may also experience changes in joints, stamina, and strength. Cardio and strength training is key to heart health and bone strength.
- For those in their 60s and beyond, joint pain and stiffness may be constant companions. Walking on a treadmill, taking gentle (but effective) aquatics classes, or stretching it out in yoga may be effective as well as enjoyable.
